James joined One Economy as its Manager of the National Volunteer Program in March. He leads volunteer efforts through the Americorps VISTA and other programs as a part of the AT&T AccessAll Initiative, which is a three year partnership with AT&T, Habitat for Humanity and One Economy to bring broadband connections, computers and training into 50,000 homes. James spent most of his career working with community based organizations. Most recently, he spent eight years with The Winston-Salem Foundation in a variety of roles. He helped the foundation launch the ECHO Fund, which focused on an effort to build social capital in the community and led the foundation's Black Philanthropy Initiative to help build permanent philanthropic assets controlled by African-Americans. He also serves of the board of the National Center for Black Philanthropy. James is a graduate of Yale University.
