One Economy is proud to announce La Buena Vida (www.labuenavidalatina.org), a new section on the Beehive available for our Spanish speaking audience.  In order to provide more relevant content to the largest minority in the U.S., La Buena Vida aims to serve Latinos who want to improve their health, reduce unnecessary expenses, and protect the environment. La Buena Vida uses multimedia tools and personal stories to help Latinos improve their well-being and get the most out of life every day.

Daniel Carter: Finding Ways to Change for the Better

On February 27th, One Economy joined forces with several organizations in Oakland to stop gang violence and "Increase the Peace."  This community brought together a team from The Ella Baker Center, The East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation, Youth Alive, Youth Radio, Youth Uprising, and the Oakland Unified School District.  Together we provided a forum for local youth and community leaders to discuss how to decrease violence in their community. 

The federal stimulus package has devoted significant resources for increasing access to high-speed Internet service, as well as supporting broadband adoption programs in underserved communities in both urban and rural areas.

One Economy is working with the California Emerging Technology Fund and community based organizations to create an in-depth assessment of the current situation that can be presented to policymakers as they draft guidelines for fund distribution.
