One Economy Annual Gala - September 24, 2009

Please join One Economy on Thursday, September 24, 2009 to celebrate nine extraordinary years of bringing technology to low-income people worldwide with our fifth annual gala, oe9: A Debut of Public-Purpose Media, at the NEWSEUM in Washington, DC.
This multi-media event will premiere the second season of Diary of a Single Mom in the NEWSEUM's state-of-the-art theater. Diary is directed and produced by the award-winning Robert Townsend and chronicles the lives of three single mothers and their families trying to get ahead in a world that is trying to hold them under. In addition, engaging new programming featured on One Economy's Public Internet Channel will be debuted.
A cocktail hour with heavy hors d'oeuvres will precede the screening where guests can mix and mingle with leaders from the Administration, business, media and philanthropy. The screening will be followed by a dessert reception where guests and sponsors will be joined by the cast of Diary, including Monica Calhoun, Valery Ortiz, Janice Linde, Billy Dee Williams, Richard Roundtree and Leon. The NEWSEUM's seven levels of interactive exhibits will be open to guests at this time
Proceeds from oe9 will support One Economy's mission to connect low-income individuals to the 21st century economy by bringing wide-scale access to broadband, youth programs, technology skills and online educational content to low-income communities around the globe.
One Economy will also be honoring two individuals with the following awards:
The Metcalfe Digital Opportunity Award
In honor of Jane Metcalfe, Founder of WIRED magazine and a One Economy Board Member. This award honors leadership in the democratization of technology and the Internet.
The Lisa Y. Sullivan Award
In memory of founding One Economy Board Member, Lisa Sullivan, a tireless advocate for urban youth, this award honors exceptional youth who use technology to transform low-income communities.

Nice post. Its important
Nice post. Its important that we are following up the state of our economy. This can be done through other industries that contributes to the GNP.Ford stock is expanding and taking Ford into the front of the auto making business. Ford stock price closed with the maximum it had been since 2005. Today I don't know about you, but in my opinion that shows improvement on Fords behalf. Ford is the only Detroit automaker that did not take the governments bail out, opting to recuperate by themselves. It has proved to be valuable for them. The automaker is also planning on taking over other parts of the market as well with new wise cars, better auto financing, and new models still to be launched.
I really want to be a part
I really want to be a part of this gala. I have a small business where I sell and Buy Used Oil & Gas Equipment, I want to know about the different youth programs you have for low income people.
My friend sells New
My friend sells New Generators, he is a big fan of this gala, he tells me that through this program you bring wide-scale access to broadband, youth programs, technology skills and online educational content to low-income communities around the globe.
