Rita is a struggling mother of two daughters enrolled in computer classes at One Economy’s Community Knowledge Center in Durban, South Africa. Though she had no knowledge of computers and had never even set up an e-mail account, today she is a successful entrepreneur who uses technology to network and expand her business.
One Economy works across the United States and around the globe to help people learn how to use technology to improve their lives. Through One Economy’s youth technology and leadership program, Digital Connectors, we have created a new generation of technology ambassadors who take what they’ve learned in the program and train family members and residents. We also hold technology trainings in public places like schools, public housing developments and recreation centers. Through our technology education, we are helping people harness the power and potential of 21st century technology.
